How Flat Fee Works
When you are ready to sell your property, you can hire a broker and pay up to 7% of the sell price if your property is sold. If you have a $300,000 house, the broker will receive $21,000 (7% x $300,000 = $ 21,000). That $21,000 is then divided between the Sellers agent (listing agent) and the Buyers agent.

An agent from a real estate office calls you and sets up an appointment to show your home to their client. Their client loves it; they put an offer on it, and you agree to sell it to them. You must pay the other realtor, typically between 2 and 3%, which means you saved between $11,500 and $14,500 dollars.
